Al Qaeda Sends a Message to Democrats

Al Qaeda Sends a Message to Democrats

December 22, 2006 2:28 PM

Brian Ross and Hoda Osman Report:

New_tape_nr_1Al Qaeda has sent a message to leaders of the Democratic party that credit for the defeat of congressional Republicans belongs to the terrorists.

In a portion of the tape from al Qaeda No. 2 man, Ayman al Zawahri, made available only today, Zawahri says he has two messages for American Democrats.

"The first is that you aren't the ones who won the midterm elections, nor are the Republicans the ones who lost. Rather, the Mujahideen -- the Muslim Ummah's vanguard in Afghanistan and Iraq -- are the ones who won, and the American forces and their Crusader allies are the ones who lost," Zawahri said, according to a full transcript obtained by ABC News.

Zawahri calls on the Democrats to negotiate with him and Osama bin Laden, not others in the Islamic world who Zawahri says cannot help.

"And if you don't refrain from the foolish American policy of backing Israel, occupying the lands of Islam and stealing the treasures of the Muslims, then await the same fate," he said.

Rich in France pay 60% taxes!!

PARIS - Johnny Hallyday is the closest thing France has to Elvis, so the veteran rocker's announcement that he is moving across the border to Switzerland to escape high taxes has come as a bombshell.

In the highly politicized atmosphere of pre-election France, the singer's decision is taking on political dimensions, too. Score one for presidential hopeful Nicolas Sarkozy: If the conservative who is promising lower taxes wins next spring's elections, Hallyday says he may move back.

"Black is black, there's no more hope," Hallyday sang in one of his many hits. And the way he tells it, being wealthy in France has become hopelessly expensive. "Like many French, I'm sick of paying what is imposed on us in the way of taxes," the grizzled icon, known simply as "Johnny" to his fans, said this week.

At 63, Hallyday is thinking about the hereafter, too. He said he wants to protect his three children from inheritance tax. "I agree to paying taxes. But inheritance and all that, I don't agree with."

Newsmagazine "L'Express" scored the scoop. It said Hallyday will spend just over half the year based in Gstaad, Switzerland, starting at the end of this month, to benefit from lower taxes.

To benefit from the different tax rate, Hallyday would have to live there for six months and a day each year. Many cantonal authorities allow prominent foreigners to pay a fixed tax based on expenses, such as rent, or assets in Switzerland rather than a percentage of their income.

Swiss media reported that the singer is spending millions of dollars on a chalet in the posh resort. The wealth-friendly Alpine nation is already a haven for many other French celebrities and entrepreneurs, among them skier Jean-Claude Killy, tennis player Amelie Mauresmo, race driver Alain Prost and singer Charles Aznavour. The loser in the whole affair seems to be  President Jacques Chirac. He and Hallyday were once close. Hallyday campaigned for Chirac during his losing election run in 1988. Chirac repaid the favor after he became president in 1995, decorating Hallyday with the Legion of Honor, France's highest award.

But Hallyday has made clear that he is Sarkozy's man this time. Sarkozy was once a Chirac protege and they are in the same party but are now rivals. The singer caused a stir when he showed up in dark glasses at a party meeting in September, and said this week that he would move back to France if Sarkozy is elected and lowers taxes.

Sarkozy has proposed that income tax be limited to no more than 50 percent — down from a 60-percent limit that will go into effect in Januaryand that "small and medium" sized fortunes be exempt from inheritance tax.

Without naming Hallyday, Sarkozy said it was a sign of a real problem in France that "so many of our artists, our creators, our researchers ... tell themselves that they have to leave." "I would like people to think that they can live in France even when they succeed," he said.

Chirac, however, was less forgiving. "As much as I appreciate the artist, I do somewhat regret his behavior as a citizen," he said Friday.

What's really going on in the world

The United States, Britain and Australian coalition won the Iraq war a long time ago but the media won't admit that because they want Bush to be impeached and history written as the worst US President since Nixon. The reality is we won the war. What we lost was the after-war effort to make Iraq a democracy. What's worse is it the elected Iraqi government that has failed everyone. Maliki is a pacifist and let everyone dictate what he does and when instead of being a leader. The result of the failed Iraqi government is shown in the below news clips. Make no mistake about it, Vladimir Putin is using Iraq to take the United States down a few notches. His goal is to get Russia back on top as the world super power and he's using Iran and North Korea to do it.

Now, the news clips...

BAGHDAD, Iraq - Shiite militiamen doused six Sunni Arabs with kerosene and burned them alive as Iraqi soldiers stood by, and killed 19 other Sunnis in attacks on their mosques Friday, taking revenge for the slaughter of at least 215 Shiites in the Sadr City slum the day before. The mosque attacks came after the government, in a desperate attempt to avert civil war, imposed a sweeping curfew on the capital, shut down the international airport and closed the country's main outlet to the shipping lanes in the Persian Gulf. The Mahdi Army militiamen, armed with machines guns and rocket-propelled grenades, swept through Hurriyah neighborhood near an Iraqi army post, burning four mosques and several homes, and attacking worshippers as they left Friday services.   In a statement read after his death, Litvinenko accused Russian President Vladimir Putin of orchestrating his killing and said the Russian leader would face "a howl of protest from around the world."

"You have shown yourself to be as barbaric and ruthless as your most hostile critics claim," he said in the statement released Friday.

LONDON, England (CNN) -- Former Russian spy Alexander Litvinenko died after being poisoned by a large dose of radiation, British health officials said Friday. The 43-year-old was a longtime critic of the Russian government, which he and his friends blamed for his illness. The Kremlin has denied any involvement.  Litvinenko, who had been living in Britain, died Thursday in a London hospital after falling ill three weeks ago.  "A large quantity of alpha radiation from polonium-210 was found in the urine of Mr. Litvinenko," said Roger Cox, director of Britain's Health Protection Agency.

MOSCOW -- Russia has begun delivery of Tor-M1 air defense missile systems to Iran, a Defense Ministry official said Friday, confirming that Moscow would proceed with arms deals with Tehran in spite of Western criticism.

I have not forgotten

Darryl Worley's song "Have you forgotten" is a reminder that yes, many americans have forgotten about 9/11 and even worse, believe that we're not at war. I truly wish every american citizen and yes, even illegal aliens who broke our laws to get here and live here today, would watch ABC's "The path to 9/11". It shows how the US has been at war for many years before 9/11, yet 99% of americans never knew it. Tonight President Bush held an address to the nation and he said that we are literally in a war for our culture. These extremist would love nothing more than to detonate nuclear bombs in the US. Can you imagine a US where women can't show skin, where they can't go to school or hold jobs or be in charge of anything, including their families? Neither can I but all you have to do is think about what would have happened if Hitler won. The US is in a war for our very existance. I can't help but wonder what the far left liberals are going to do and say after Jan 20th 2009 when they no longer have Bush to blame and have to face the reality that Bush is trying to show today.

Her first driving lesson

Well folks, it finally happened.. Whitno had her first on the road driving lesson with the driving instructor. Another girl was in the car with them and she too drove. This seems to be a nice driving school as all of their vehicles are ford mustangs with the exception of one pickup truck. She "really" liked driving the mustang (duh!!) and after our terrifying drive last weekend in my stick shift pontiac, I am seriously thinking of selling the Vibe and buying a used car that has an automatic transmission. I don't feel she, or anyone else for that matter, is safe in the vibe and feel she would do better with an automatic.

Am I just being soft and letting her get her way? I mean almost every single person I know learned how to drive using a stick shift, including every member of my family. In a way I feel like I'm "giving in". I just want her to be as safe as possible. oy.. parenthood stinks sometimes..

..and the week gets worse

Earlier this week someone stole some money out of Whitno's purse at school. Then her best friend turned on her. All this after her she injured her feet and was ripped a new one by one of her teachers. I hope nothing bad happens today because yesterday was a really, really bad day for her...apparently there is a little thief at the school and they stole money out of everyone's purses in the training room _and_ Whitno's IPOD!!!! That ipod is like a body part to her so needless to say, she's devastated. I feel sooooo bad for her and I'm being as supportive of her as I can. Poor girl has just had a rotten week :-(

Whitno's a licensed driver but...

The good news is Whitno is now a texas licensed driver via her permit license. Which means she can drive as long as an adult 21 or older is next to her. That's the good news. The bad news is she bought new shoes and wore them without socks and ripped her feet apart and can barely walk now. Very painful. ouch. Other than that, she is doing really good in school and we're both glad she's back to normal life with a schedule.

Big Brother All Stars

Everyone is calling Big Brother All Stars- Big Brother All Bores because how boring this season is. I agree completely.

First... season 6 alliance. America's favorite player Kaysar was never in the game mentally and to this day I have no idea why he bothered to accept the job. The only thing I can think of is he thought his alliance would be the star of the show. Unfortunately he's smart enough to have realized immediately that "Chill Town" would be the stars, not his alliance I think he just quit the show mentally speaking. He was voted out before the jury. I really feel sorry for Howie. This is a 30 some-odd year old guy who has the mental capacity of a 13yo boy. He's pathetic. He says he's meant to be on reality tv. News flash Howie.. you're meant to be in a cubicle with no windows and no contact with the outside world.
James.. same egotistical jerk today he was the first time we saw him. Janelle... Marilyn Monroe - Anna Nicole Smith - wannabe if there ever is one living today. People think she's hot? gag me. This girl is destined to gain 100lbs and be the spokeswoman for the goodyear tire.

Chilltown
Mike Boogie is without question the star of this show. He's everything the show is about. Ruthless, cunning.. you name it. Enjoy your 14 1/2 mins of fame because you go back to your pathetic life when the show's over. Doc? duh.. he's a successful doctor and happy in real life. He's there to have fun and nothing but. He, unlike every other person on the show, is losing money being there. He makes more money as a doctor than they are paid on the show.

Danielle & Erika are great people and I wish them the best in their lives. They are normal everyday folk.

Chicken George is every older man's hero. 40 something guy stickin it to the young punks in the house. George is a great family man and deserves the million bucks.

Thankfully the show ends Sept 12th. Not a day too soon.

Treasure Hunters Summary

I enjoyed the show Treasure Hunters a million times more than I did the finale. The live finale, in which the 3 genius's won 3 million dollars-a mil for each, was the worst finale of any show I think I've ever seen. The host, live!, was rude and actually "mean" to the guys who won - he literally grabbed one by the arm and yanked him away from people- because they were too busy hugging the other contestants instead of getting to their place on stage. They were supposed to get in a certain place so the host could ask them the stupidest question "you've just won the treasure, how do you feel?" duh!  This guy did a good job for the filming of the show but in the live finale, he came across a total idiot and jerk. Also in the finale was about 10 minutes where viewers who won 10,000 got a chance to win 100,000. What a waste. They barely gave each contestant 5 seconds to speak because of how unorganized the live show was. In the end, Treasure Hunters was nothing more than a total copy cat of The Amazing Race and a horrible one at that. The Amazing Race is the best reality show on tv today, hands down. The host's name is Phil Koegen and that man has talent. What's the guys name on Treasure Hunters? Who knows, who cares? Exactly.

The Amazing Race starts in a couple weeks. I can't wait!

Quick recap of favorite shows

Big Brother All Stars
Thursday left us with Marcellas heading to the sequester house. No big surprise there. George having to nominate in a matter of seconds is the only reason I can come up with for *not* putting up the bimbo Janelle. Within 24hours, Howie-who never won a single thing in the house- was blindsided by chilltown and sent to the sequester house but not before he finally showed some testosterone on the way out the door. James and Janelle (final reminants of season 6) we nominated by boogie and Janelle won pov _again_. James is upset his title of veto king is gone thanks to Janelle. George wil most likely be nominated today and I believe will go to sequester thursday.

Kyle XY
This is the one show that Whitney and I sit and watch together. I'm here to tell you that if there were 10 other shows like this on t.v, we'd watch a lot more together. It is the very best family show on t.v. today.

11yo Bianca Ryan wins America's Got Talent Contest

I'd love to know what company I can buy stock in for this singer because she's going to be as big Celine Dion... Mariah Carey... and I hate to even bring up this dispicable person's name but from a talent standpoint, Barbara Streisand. Bianca may not have been discovered on the mickey mouse club(britney/christina/timberlake) or american idol (clarkson/underwood) .. but this girl is going to sell millions and millions of cd's. The reality show proved one thing.. America really does have talent. The 8yo girl who yodels ... who literally taught herself how to do it by uh.. reading a book?! wow.. that's talent. The two guys who are the new pen and teller.. the couple who does the quick-change act and has done it for almost 20 years and have done it in like 30 countries and in front of the last three presidents of the united states.. yeah.. america definitely has talent! Oh and if you didn't see David Hassellhoff sing on the show a couple weeks ago missed the fact that he really can sing. Who knew?

Heather wins Hells Kitchen

I don't know what it is about this show but I've been hooked from the first episode. I'm glad Heather won and hope she makes it as the executive chef at the Red Rock Resort in Las Vegas. For someone to from being a soue chef in New York City to being an executive chef at a multi-million dollar restaurant in Las Vegas is, well like winning the lottery. But Heather now has to work and be successful. It's not like she won the prize and can go there and sit on her rear. She has to prove to everyone she deserved it and is capable of doing the job. Victoria clearly has a "pallet" but it was also clear she has no leadership skills and is incapable of running that multi-million dollar restaurant. As far as Sara, she's just plain spiteful and evil. She cleans up nice outside of the kitchen but it doesn't make up for who she is inside. Keith is a young punk who's a wanna be gangsta rapper who also has skill in the kitchen. The rest of the "contestants" were there simply to be on t.v. and have no skills in the kitchen. Can't wait for next years show..

Catching up on politics

Since I've been known for my strong political beliefs and the fact there are still blog entries here about the '04 elections, I figured I'd update ya'all on my current political beliefs.

First and foremost I am torn about how I feel about President Bush. On one hand I am glad he's our President today and not that whack job Kerry. It's been a rough 3+ years now and Bush has done plenty that I do not agree with but the London plot, which would have been as big or bigger than 9-11, would have happened if not for the M5 (The british equivilent of the CIA) having the abilities to do their job while here in the U.S, the New York Times and every other liberal outlet and liberal congressmen and senators want to diminish our abilities to track terrorists' efforts to kill us. If this plot were to have been started and worked on here in the US then the terrorists would have succeeded because the liberals are too worried about their civil liberties being taken away. So they would rather have their civil liberties vs allowing agencies to spy and track terrorists activities. Now don't get me wrong... I'm all for civil liberties. But you know what? I prefer to LIVE first, then worry about my civil liberties!

Okay, so that's the positive about Bush. The negative... well as a life-long republican, I am ashamed of my party. I am ashamed of Bush and quite frankly, I am seriously considering changing my party affiliation to independant. I will never vote for a democrat as long as I breathe oxygen but I am just sick of the republicans... and democrats. I am sick of republicans' holier than thou arrogant attitude, right to life, anti-abortion no matter the circumstance and complete failure to stand up and do the right thing about ILLEGAL immigration. I am equally sick of democrats for their pansy ass defeatism-stick your head in the sand and hope problems go away themselves and heaven forbide the US do something about our energy crisis such as drill for more oil along the east coast and gulf of mexico. I'm all for every other kind of energy use that we could use, but right now I'm sick and tired of paying $3 a gallon of gas with the potential for it to be 4 or 5. It's pathetic. The one thing I get to laugh about today is all the whack jobs out there that said, and for that matter still say, that we invaded Iraq for the oil. Really? We invaded Iraq to get their oil? ummm HELLO ... we're paying 200% more for gas today than we did in 2001. Iraq is pumping as much oil today as they did before Bush was elected. Clearly we're not getting any more oil from Iraq today than we did 5 years ago.

Howard Dean btw.. the man belongs in a straight jacket in a room with 4 white walls and a cot. He is by far the biggest idiot to ever get into politics.

If anyone actually knows what the democrats are actually going to do when they get in power, other than censure bush, let me know. A democrat was on a talk show the other day and the host asked what they'd do about terrorism. He replied they'd go after the terrorist whereever they are, unlike Bush. The host said so we'd invade lebonon and go after hezzbolah? and invade Pakistan to get Bin Laden and Invade Iran to get those nuts? The dems reply was to repeat what he said. Why is it that whenever someone asks a democrat for an answer, they spew talking points and bash Bush but never answer the question? Why is that? Oh that's right.. they don't have any answers.

Good for them neither do republicans. Let's all just ramp up the fear factor and talk about change so a different party has control of the government but not actually get anything done.

Where's Ross Perot? Ross... hello... where are you?

Now aren't you glad you asked how I really feel?

Catching up on things

To be honest, I forgot I even had this blog and then when I found it, I was even more surprised they hadn't deleted it since I hadn't posted anything in a year. Thanks blogger.com :)

Well I really don't remember much before February of this year to be quite honest. I guess I was just living life the way I used to. Same issues with weight, same issues with stress... spending more than I made. Other than everything Whitney related, I guess about the only real positive thing was going to Gateway-Community Church every Sunday.

That all changed when one Sunday they talked about a new class starting called Financial Peace University. I had heard the name from two different people I know so I paid $96 and joined the class. The rest as they say is history. Taking the course and learning everything Dave Ramsey has changed my life along with Whitney's. We have paid off thousands of dollars of debt and hope to be debt free, except for the house, in less than 2 years. One of the things you have to do as soon as you start is to create a budget. That evolved in me creating a budget program I have named Personal Budget Organizer. It's not perfect but it has already helped a friend of mine and I hope it helps many other people.

I guess I'll continue posting here again.. so more later..

No such thing as liberal bias media?

Oh yeah? Check this out...

Personal Budget Organizer 2.1 Now Available!

I am proud to announce the release of Personal Budget Organizer 2.1. I have been working on this program since I started Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University course back in March ('06). The first two releases didn't have an installation program or help system but this release takes care of both of them. I am confident this is a program that every normal person who has the desire and need to get out of debt can use. Installation takes less than 2 minutes and the help system is easy to follow.

You can download Personal Budget Organizer 2.1 now
