Life, Work, Politics.. what else is there?

Good morning ya'all. Before I get started, I wanted to show this msnbc (which as you know viewers leans a bit more democrat than republican), poll shows Bush with a 17% lead. On tv you hear about 5, 6, 7, 10 point lead. Well the polls you hear about are done with 500 or 1000 people at a time, and they're usually the same people. It makes me sick to think the media is telling 330 million people that X person has a N point lead over the other when they're only talking about 500-1000 people. No.. online polls such as this one are more in tune with america because it represents a much larger portion of the population. As of Sunday September 19th 2004, over 100,000 have voted in this poll and Bush is ahead by 17%. In reference to C-BS, I believe that America has finally seen Dan Rather's true colors. He refuses to admit what he did and stands behind "the content" of the forged documents, even though a Brigadaire General has publically disputed the charge against "Lieutenant" Bush. Then you have the letters released between the General and Bush's Dad (Bush 41) that shows how gung-ho GBW was. Dan Rather has finally crossed the line. His credibility and that of CBS is GONE and the American PEOPLE have said as much based on the ratings for CBS have PLUMMETED in 7 of the 10 major markets. I'm only glad to see the fall of Dan Rather because Dan Rather did it to himself. No one else did it, especially not republicans.

Now, onto other things....
Kemah Police Chief Roy Owen has announced his retirement effective October 31st 2004. I have so many thoughts about this man I could fill pages of my blog. But no.. I'm only going to say that I believe in Karma and as a God fearing Christian, I truely believe that those who commit evil acts onto others will get their due. Unfortunately in real-life, it doesn't happen as quickly as we would like. Also, I am not holding my breathe for getting my part time job back after he leaves. If I do, then I'll take the opportunity knowing I'm a better person and that I stood up for what I believe in and I did the right thing. I know I was right in doing what I did because City Council members, friends, family and people I've met since who have heard what happened have all told me I was courageous and strong. I like to think I'm a little like President Bush. I stand firm in what I believe in and I never waiver, EVER.

Work. ugh. I have worked every day for 3 weeks straight. We are trying to get the beta of our CRM package out and trying to release to the public at the end of the month. I Finished the manual and the online support documents yesterday, along with some code changes. We are so proud of what we've done with the software. We are very excited about it and believe everyone will love it. Hopefully sales take off and I hope I can take a weekend off soon. This 7 days a week thing is starting to get to me.

On a lighter note..
Whitney is doing really good. She recently brought home her 3 week progress report and she has straight A's. I am very proud of her. She really likes all her teachers and is starting to finally enjoy "the boring stuff" such as math and science. She spent the night Friday night with Traci and they went shopping yesterday so she had a really good day. Last night she found out 1 of her 2 best friends broke her arm so she was pretty upset. I told her that though she'd be in pain from it, she'll be fine.

Like I said, I have been working 7 days a week and have had very little time off. I haven't been on the waverunner in a couple weeks. Hopefully this coming weekend I'll be able to.

Jazzfest at the Kemah Boardwalk. I L O V E Jazz so I WILL make time to be there this coming weekend!!

Well that's it for now folks.
